Election Day 2011

Well my friends...tomorrow is election day...again.
Didn't we just do this?!

Oh well...a person's gotta do what a person's gotta do.
So vote we will!

In an attempt to raise children who appreciate the opportunity to live in a democracy, we held our own mock Election 2011.

We worked together to create what we thought was a fair representation of candidates.

The instructions, encouraging voters to mark an 'X' next to their candidate of choice were listed on the back of the ballot.

And in case you can't read the combination 6 year old and 8 year old says...
Conservative Calamari with Blueberries and Ice Cream
Liberal Lasagne with Strawberries and Ice Cream
N.D.P. B.L.T. with Mango Ice Cream
Green Eggs and Ham with Mint Ice Cream.
Notice how we paid homage to their true colours? Clever, I know;)

There was a little campaigning...that went something like this...
"You can't just vote for something 'cause you like the food! You have to like the party."
"Yuck. I'm not voting for calamari!"

As the moment to vote drew near, campaigning ceased and the voters lined up to cast their ballots.

The list was made...

The ballot box erected {not to be confused with the more poised and graceful ballet box}...
The secret polling station ready...
The ballots distributed...
The decision made....

The vote submitted...
The results tabulated...
It appears that N.D.P. B.L.T. with Mango and Ice Cream is the clear winner.
The people have spoken!
