It's Beginning to Look a Lot...

...like Christmas.
Ev'rywhere you go;
Take a look in the five and ten glistening once again,
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in ev'ry store...

For those of you who have followed my obsession with every thing rosette...you won't be surprised to see how I embellished my wreath!

I began with some fabric remnants and an old curtain, that I twisted and glued into these beauties.
I fiddled with their placement and added some dollar store mirror-ball ornaments for a little bling.
This is for my hubby, who always thought my Country-Christmas decorating scheme {of days gone by} lacked the glitter and glam that the holidays deserve:)

I gave my wreath a place of honour above our antique piano, hanging on a mirror that I redid here.
  It's the first thing you see as you walk in to our little home.
It welcomes us home.

With Charlie our insanely crazy puppy who ate my camera beautiful Chocolate Lab milling about around my feet and my favourite Christmas Carols playing in the background, I added some garland, more glitter, some lights and few of my favourite things.
  It truly is beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

I didn't stop there! The decoration on our coffee table may just be my favourite.
I rescued an old wooded box that my husband had claimed as his own.
{I'm not sure what he was thinking either!}
I filled it with Christmas greenery to match the one on the piano and to give a backdrop for our antique skates.

I love the story of these skates...
My hubby's grandparents had a farm near the town where he grew up...a quaint little homestead filled with memories of weekends with family and gopher huntin'!
In the tiny little basement beneath the tiny little house lay a treasure-trove of memories.
Old jars, bed frames, furniture, skates, you name it...each piece with its own story.

These skates once belonged to someone special.
No one knows for sure who that special someone was....
Baba, Old Gido, an uncle, an aunt? No one knows.
What we do know is that they are precious...they remind us of where my hubby came from. They remind my kiddies of where they came from.
They remind me how lucky I am to have found this family when I was just seventeen.
I am thankful everyday.
The 'b' is from Micheal's. I wrapped it with fabric and added a  rosette.

What are you thankful for this holiday season?
Leave me a comment...they make my day!
Cheers!
